Thanks for an Amazing Year in Niagara Falls

We celebrated our 1st year on Thursday, January 22 and we couldn’t have done it without you! In the past year, Doc’s has become known as one of Niagara Falls’ best venues for live music and Niagara Falls, Ontario's only Irish Restaurant and Pub - and an authentic one at that!

Not only was birthday cake served all-day, but we gave away free appetizers and nibblies from 3-6pm. Later in the evening to help us celebrate an amazing year, Instant Yield played live all night long.

Doc Magilligan’s is named after Dr. Francis Magilligan, the son of John Magilligan who hails from Dungiven, Ireland.  As the story is told, our good Doctor was always the life of the party and was as comfortable enjoying a round as he was making them. It’s fitting then that this pub was built completely in Ireland and serves to celebrate the very spirit of the man himself through an inexhaustible outpouring of good cheer, great company, and fantastic food and drink.
Two generations later, their great, great-granddaughter, Maureen Magilligan, married Fred Cade who along with his brother Len and his wife Elizabeth own the thriving Niagara location where Doc Magilligan’s Pub now sits.  The rest of the story can be found here.

All the bars, and woodworking found in Doc Magilligan’s were designed and created just outside Dublin, Ireland and then shipped to Niagara Falls on a cargo ship. The pub was designed by husband & wife team, Anne Browne and David Grimes from Bar None Designs in Nepean, ON.  All of our artifacts and ephemera in the pub came from other pubs and restaurants in Ireland that have closed over the years. All of these collectibles found at Doc’s are truly authentic - nothing has been recreated!  Thus making Doc Magilligan’s a truly international affair!
