St Patrick's Day 2015 Niagara Falls

Warm up for St. Paddy’s on St. Practice Day 2015

On Saturday, March 14 - St. Practice Day begins and festivities begin at noon with the Two Man Group. The Postmen get things going at 5pm, and The Bill Quigley Band from Ottawa close the night out, with their first set starting at 10pm. St. Practice Day is named after St. Practice, the patron saint of proficiency and experience. Who are we kidding? There’s nobody named St. Practice, it’s just a great day to get excited for the real deal - St. Patrick’s Day.

A Niagara Falls March Break to Remember

This year, St. Patrick’s Day falls on March Break and Niagara Falls is the place to be to enjoy a traditional Irish day. Due to a higher volume of traffic, we will be offering a limited food menu, but we will be offering our own St. Paddy’s day special: Enjoy corned beef and cabbage from on March 14, St. Practice Day all the way up to March 17, St. Patrick’s Day. Did you know that corned beef and cabbage isn’t an authentic Irish dish? It was modified when many Irish immigrants in the US couldn’t afford to make it the authentic way. On Tuesday, March 17, entertainment at Doc’s starts at noon with traditional irish music from Barley Brae. Fear the Worst take the stage at 5pm and bring a unique blend of music including celtic, Top 40 and classic rock. Party-rockers, The Associates begin their first set at 10pm and the night will no doubt keep the energy going into the wee hours of the morning.

Traditional Irish Dancers

To keep the authentic St. Paddy’s vibe going, Doc Magilligan’s is proud to present the Faherty De Menezes Irish Dancers. This dance academy has two schools located in Oakville and Niagara Falls and they seek to create skilled Irish dancers. Classes focuses on proper form and technique, stamina, flexibility and presentation. We look forward to seeing what the girls have in store for us on St. Patrick’s Day!

There’s Still Time to Win 2 Amazing Contests

Since we introduced our two fabulous contests in mid-January, we’ve had an incredible amount of entries both here at the pub and online. There’s still a bit of time to enter, so make sure you make it down to Doc’s at least once before St. Practice Day for your chance to win a trip for 2 to Dublin, Ireland. The Dublin contest will be drawn on St. Patrick’s Day and the winner will be announced at noon.

If you can’t make it Doc’s before March 14 - don’t sweat it - you still have time to enter our #FromDocstoDublin contest where you can win a Toronto Pub Crawl experience. Simply enjoy an Irish pint at the pub, take a selfie and post it online with the hashtag #FromDocstoDublin. The social media contest will end on St. Patrick’s Day, and a winner will be announced shortly after March 17.  Click the image below for more details.
