This all-star game is meant to showcase the best draft-eligible junior players from across Canada’s three junior leagues, the OHL, WHL and QMJHL. The game is being hosted by the Niagara Ice Dogs in the brand new Meridian Centre in downtown St. Catharines.

How Soon will these Juniors make an impact in the NHL?

The 40 players that will be taking part in the Top Prospects Game have been hand-picked by NHL scouts and divided into teams by NHL Central Scouting.  According to the last CHL press release,  “In the past 19 years, 265 players from this event have been selected in the first round of the NHL Draft...”

If past prospect games are any indication, the upcoming match at the Meridian Centre could very well represent the future of the National Hockey League! Now that the World Junior Hockey Championships are over, this game is the closest we have to a Junior Hockey all-star game - the last OHL All Star Classic took place in 2010.
